To begin with , it is necessary to emphasize the importance and urgency of having public politics regarding the legalization of abortion. This subject is quite controversial and delicate, since many points of view are involved as ethical, moral, religious, biological, political and among others.
Personally, I hate that the church in Chile has such an important "role" in regard to women's decisions about what they should do with their body. I feel that the church in a secular country cannot get involved in politics on this issue. It is absurd.
Another important point in the debate on the legislation of abortion is biological perspective. That is the main issue when considering that something is alive or at which stage the fetus feels pain.
I believe that there should be free and quality abortion so that all women have the same opportunities. In other words, by assuring free access to abortion, you prevent women from going through a clandestine abortion, risking their health and even in some cases death because of poor hygienic conditions. The decision must be totally taken by women since it is their body. The church or the state should not decide on her body. As far as I know, that this will not happen (so sad), but i hope that the legislation of abortion in three causes is the first and great step for this dreams to become a reality.

ResponderBorrarI also think that the church should not have any influence on the political decisions that are taken on issues such as abortion, where what is at stake are the rights of a woman, who has the right to live and decide in freedom.
