gender roles

This topic is quite controversial and polemic, which is currently being questioned by a great social movement that lately in Chile has taken a lot of force, feminism.

Personally I think that the gender roles and stereotypes are totally wrong and should be avoided to the maximum. which is that children can only play with cars, wear clothes with "men's colors", that they can't cry, because that is about women and boys don't cry or that girls can only wear pink and play "things of girls " like cooking, putting on makeup. These stereotypes only create people who are biased in a certain way and with roles of very marked and interiorized gender, which often are not questioned and are transmitted again to their children, as a cycle, a disastrous cycle.

Many times people who do not follow these stereotypes and gender roles given by society are seen in a bad way, for example that a child plays with dolls is almost a sin and must be "corrected."

I hope that in the future Chilean society will be more empathetic and stop perpetuating gender roles and absurd stereotypes.
